- What I Love About My Small Home:
- We (family of three) love our cozy home! We downsized a few years ago and managed to carve out a comfortable home out of 430 sq ft. We love the high ceilings, the generous balcony and the working fireplace. We love the stylish 1936 architecture - an ideal base for our favourite wallpapers and textiles designed in the 1930's-40's by Josef Frank. It was important to incorporate our beloved books, various "objets d'art", and old furniture, many of which are family heirlooms. The (folding) bed, sofa and ottoman are just plain IKEA and were chosen for their dimensions and washable covers. We love living on the seventh floor which means tons of light and beautiful sunsets. City life is just around the corner AND we have a stunning view of a vast park outside the windows. Bonus 1: The passing of the Royal horse guards. Bonus 2: The low rent makes it possible to keep a weekend home too! (Things are constantly shipped there, like the piano.)
