With a goal of creating "the next generation of heirlooms," Schoolhouse Electric is one of our favorite contemporary home brands—beyond lighting, the company sells hardware, clocks, and other purposeful home goods. Products are manufactured and designed at a factory in Portland with a firm focus on quality, while three stores in Portland, NYC, and Pittsburgh bring the collections directly to consumers. That means the prices tend to reflect the craftsmanship and design behind each piece. And while we believe in investing, when possible, in high-caliber products, that doesn't preclude us from also getting excited when the prices lower.
