"This tiny house was one of the biggest challenges of my life. Going from a 1,500-square-foot house to 400 is a challenge to say the least," writes Austin Klapesky. "When I purchased it, it was a disaster. Great bones, but every surface needed rebuilding. We went down to the brick walls and dirt floors. As I was designing it, I had to really challenge myself to think small scale yet smart and efficient. I wanted to live in a 'no compromise' space and that's a challenge at 400 square feet."
