Tiffanie's Peaceful French Apartment — House Call

After living abroad for years, I bought a one bedroom apartment of 43m2 in the northern suburbs of Paris and my mother's hometown, Aubervilliers, in 2013. When I visited the place back then, the apartment had a few assets I could not miss: a huge living/dining room, big windows with a great exposure and a balcony on a quiet backyard. However, the apartment felt crowded with too many colors used in the wrong balances: think an orange kitchen, touches of bright yellow, turquoise and bubble gum pink in the living room, coral and khaki in the bedroom and cherry red with shades of grey in the bathroom. Color is a tough one even with the best of intentions. But I remember that Solange Knowles did it right in her Brooklyn apartment.
