This past week I was contacted by Ten Thousand Villages (non-profit retailer and founding member of the World Fair Trade Organization) to share this special Community Shopping Event to help the people of Nepal. The crisis has hit Ten Thousand Villages close to home as it partners with nine artisan groups in Nepal to bring their handicrafts to the U.S. market. And while they have heard from all of their artisan groups and know they are safe, the journey to rebuild has only just begun.
Just for today, Friday, May 29th, 10% of every purchase in the store is being donated to the relief effort in Nepal through the agency of the MCC which has boots on the ground there. You can read all about it here. Shop above and below!!
